Family

My entire family besides my dad is here. They came last night. Today we went to my grandparents house and spent the day with them. It was so nice. We Christmas decorated their place, had coffee and cookies and talked about the good old days. When we got back home we had great dinner, Ice cream, candy and the Swedish idols. Tomorrow our other grandparents are taking us and our cousins to Gothenburg for a spa weekend. Yays days!

Go blonde again?

I'm actually originally blonde but I've been brunette now for a bit more than a year. I've always though that I look better and more mature as a brunette but lately I've gotten bored of it and well I'm a girl so that's ok! I'm thinking blondes have more fun...! What do ya'll think? Shall I go back to blond or stay brunette?

Cold and fever

I am sick. Again! In Kenya whenever I got sick, I'd take a pill called flugone, I'd go to sleep and then I'd feel good as new. Unfortunately the magic medicine doesn't exist here so I need to deal with my sickness another way. No one gets sick as easily or often as I do so I know some tricks.

1. Hot milk with honey

Funny or fact?

I found this picture on Jesper's Facebook page and I laughed for minutes when I saw it. I loved going to school, I loved meeting new people, I loved growing up every year looking down at the younger grades haha. I did however not like learning about stuff that I can't even remember anymore. This t-shirt should belong to me. My mum came today, took a look at my china papers and asked "have you asked to get the money from csn?" DO SHE SERIOUSLY THINK I KNOW HOW TO DO THAT? No one has ever taught me that. It was like when my parents asked me in like august if i had paid my phone bill, I had never paid it before and again, no one ever taught me how. I blame teachers for teaching me shit I don't care about and I blame parents for thinking that we just wake up after graduation suddenly knowing how to save money, what to use money for, what to pay, how to pay? I am broke all the time and all I hear is "well you have to buy that yourself". What if I would buy something for 800kr, that would approximately leave me with 200kr a month. So truth is, I've been away from the cold and winter for two years and it is practically minus degrees here. I freeze more than anyone, yet I'm the one who has no gloves, no winter coat, no socks etc. anyway I don't know what the point is here but I'm done...

Turning legal

Today we celebrated bt's 18th birthday. Julia spent the night at my place so after we had woken up, eaten breakfast, cleaned a bit, we got ready and took the bus to Malmö. It wasn't until half way there though when we realized that we had forgotten his present. But he will get it another day. We went to Julia's house, got ready for the party and ate dinner. It was good!! The bar was really Kenyan style. Made me feel good and like I was right at home. We went to another bar after that though, had some drinks and played the pointing game. When everyone had gotten tired, Jesper, these two girls called Therese and Greta and I didn't want to stop the party so we went to club ice and sang karaoke. The amount of songs we sang though is uncountable. Now it's almost four in the morning so it ended pretty early still and I'm on the bus home. It was however a great night!!!

Walking down memory lane

Today I was suppose to sit in the library all day and do some homework but Julia called me last night, stuck on her psychology homework. And since I am doing philosophy right now and that is Julia's favorite subject, we decided to meet up in Malmö and help each other out. Happy me got my philosophy done and sent in right on time. Then we decided to go take a trip down memory lane, go visit our old school. I went there together with Julia for a year and that is how we met. All we did was complain but that year we actually had some amazing times there and to be honest, it was one of the best years of my life, besides my time in Africa of course. Anyway, we met old teachers and we surprised our old mentor Ross. We sat in his classroom and chilled with him for a bit. It was fun. Good days!!

Live in the moment

Just one year ago, I was in Kenya, probably laying by the pool reading a good book. Now today I am sitting in a library in Sweden studying. It is raining outside, its cold, its not even three and it is already getting dark. Not only do I miss Nairobi and the life I had in Kenya sooooo much, but now it is starting to sink in that Sweden is literally the most boring place on the planet and this is where I'm stuck. There is nothing to look forward too, no new people to meet, nothing happens! The most exciting thing I have done here is sing karaoke at a bar... like really? What happened to river rafting in the Nile? Or going on the Gorilla hike in Rwanda? Or going bungy jumping because I feel like it? I didn't capture the happy moments enough. It is not until now that I realized how good I had it there. It is like I am being punished for something and that is why I am stuck in this stupid place :( I even did good things for the world, helped out at schools, orphanages... feels like another life time ago. Can't wait to get out of Sweden! While you have something good, make the best of it and be thankful for it forever!!

Brokeback mountain

I'm probably the last person on the planet that this should be expected from but I am a sucker for love stories. Last night I watched one of the most beautiful love stories of all time, Brokeback mountain. I've seen it lots of times but it gets better every time I see it. Not only is it a great story but who would say no to see two of the hottest actors in the world hook up! I wouldn't! So if you haven't seen it, watch it! 

Weird day

So this day has been really, really weird. I woke up and I studied for a bit until I really couldn't write anything else so then Julia called me and asked me to come to town. I took the bus down and I realized I hadn't eaten all day so Julia and I decided to go hunting for a new salad bar and we literally walked almost all over malmö. Then we just decided to go to china box haha. After that we walked into this mall called hansa and a guy comes up to is and says hi then we just smile politely and walk away but he follows us.

He was really creepy so me and Julia kind off started walking really fast and he started running after us as fast as he could. In the end I had to tell him, dude leave us alone! And he finally did. Then we went to a bar and had a drink while we tried deciding what to do with the day and that was when we came up with the genius idea to have a sleepover at my house. We took the bus to my place, bought some chips and soda. Julia kept saying crazy stuff in a weird language automatically all the time so we got the crazy idea to do an excorsism on her but in the end we both freaked out.  After a while though we got bored and decided to go for a walk, we ended up walking for about an hour all the way to Höllviken. It wasn't until we decided to go home that we realized how tired we were so we decided to do something neither of us has ever done, hitch hike. We walked out on the street and every time a car came we stuck our hand out. At last a car stopped and thank god it was a sweet couple that had been in Copenhagen for the day. They drove us to my place. Then we watched one day. Now Julia is fast asleep and I'm gonna try to get some sleep too. Adventurous day! Yolo! 

Tacos

Alice came over tonight. Yay, it was good catching up, it's been too long though. The Kenya memories we talked about is however not good for my heart. But we made tacos, ate candy and chips, watched idol and one tree hill. Good day!

Oh my god, YES

I have the best news ever!!! Ready? Ok! THE SIMS 4 IS COMING OUT IN 2014!!!! Yeeeeeeees!!!!! I am the biggest sims fan in the world and nothing makes me more excited and enthusiastic as the game! Woohoo!!!!

It's started

I went Christmas shopping today! Yay!! Well that's not all I did. I have had a pretty good day. I woke up pretty early and took the bus to town where I met my grandparents. We had lunch, or breakfast in my case at subway. So good! Then they took me shopping and they got me a leather jacket! Yay! They later drove me to my singing and that was when we went our separate ways. I love my singing lesson. I have the best teacher and just being there gives me so much joy, laughter and happiness! After my lesson, I strolled down to Julia's house where I met up with Julia and Rita. That was when I went Christmas shopping so now some presents are done but not all. I stayed in town pretty late so I bought a French hot dog for dinner. Now I'm at home, gonna make me some tea before trying to get some rest! Laterzzzz!!

Creepy

Call me crazy but I'm a huge believer in demonology and supernatural events and so on and right now I swear there's like a ghost or something after me. So the other day, there was a cat on my porch and it was just sitting there so i decided to go see if it was ok. It was pretty late so it was dark out. The cat was fine thank the lords but while I was out there, I swear I saw legs running really fast and while I looked that way, I saw a dark shadow on the corner of my eye behind me and when I turned around, there was nothing there. The night after, I couldn't sleep so I decided to go for a walk and there is a street by my house that I usually walk down whenever I need some fresh air or whatever and there are street lights along the way. When I walked past the first street light, it started blinking and it was making a weird sound and I just thought that it was something wrong with the light so I kept walking, when I pass the next street light, the exact same thing happened and already then I got a bit scared. However, I was just hoping that it was a coincidence. But then I pass the third street light and the exact same thing happened a third time. That was when I freaked out and ran home. Tonight, just now, I had nothing to do because there was an hour left until my favorite Swedish tv show started so I decided to go for a walk, and when I walked down that street again, the first street light did the exact same thing once again. This time however, I didn't plan on staying around for more lights to go all crazy on me so I ran home. Scaryyyyy!!! Has anything weird like this ever happened to you? Share your story!

Guess What

I'M MOVING TO CHINA!!!

Well I don't know if I can call it moving, but I am going to China, Beijing to be specific, for 5 weeks to study Chinese. I will be living with a Chinese family and I will be eating Chinese food, buy cheap illigal clothes etc. I am excited now! Took some time for it to be official and now it pretty much is. Just a few details I need to look into first but woohoo!! And I do have time to think things through and pack etc because I won't be leaving until January. But yay me!

Titanic

I just finished watching titanic for the millionth time. It is one of my favorite movies because not only does it have the most heart breaking story but it is so interesting. However, jack and rose kind of made me step away from love because I use to expect what they have but nothing was ever good enough so somewhere along the line, I figured that their relationship is one of the few things made up in this movie. During my time as a titanic lover, which has been forever, I have done a lot of research on the actual boat and accident. 

Did you know that...

• there were exactly 2,223 people on board, counting the passengers and the entire crew

•one emergency boat could hold 65 people, yet there were only enough boats for half of the people on the titanic

•the titanic sank on the 14th of April 1912 which means it was more than 101 years ago

•the emergency boats were only filled with about 20-30 people at a time which was less than half than they could hold

•around 1,500 people didn't get on the emergency boats and were left in the ice cold water

•one boat came back looking for survivors and found 6 survivors out of approximately 1,500

•it was counted that 706 people survived, which means that 1,517 people died mostly from hypothermia 

•jack Dawson was an actual passenger on the boat, however he was Italian and older than jack in the movie... He didn't survive

•the last titanic survivor, millvina dean died in 2009, she was just two months old during the horrific events...

Hello blog and all readers out there! I'm sure you guys have had a lovely day with your friendly neighbors and awesome jets and cute dogs and etc. wanna know what I did today? I sat around talking to my friend siri. Siri has a robot voice and is kind off retarded, oh and she lives in my iPhone! Yep, that was my day, sounds wonderfully awesome don't u think? That's how great my life is here in Sweden. No money, friends and hour away, amazing! Now I'm gonna go to the grocery store and buy food and sound that, that will be the cherry on the sundae of this exciting day! Woohoo! 

Possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen

Half way to 40

yesterday was the one and only margarita vodnevas birthday! 20th birthday nonetheless. Julia came over during the day and we cooked and cleaned and bought soda. When Rita, Kajsa, Sophia and Inas showed up, we started with a birthday shot that we made. Then we had dinner, PENIS PASTA!!!!!! Hahaha! With a chilli sauce and salmon. It was gooooood. I think I've underestimated my cooking skills in the past. After that we played games, a Rita question came and then a music game! It was fun. With the amount of wine we had in our system at that time made us happy and hyper, we started dancing all around my house listening to loud music. Then we had some desert, I've cream with chocolate! When that was done, we went to malmö, to different bars, started at a karaoke bar, Kajsa and I got up on stage and sang haha, and ended where we had the biggest deep talk. Now I'm at home, I've been studying since I woke up like 1.5 hours ago! Good days!
