1. Slang is very popular here. No one ever uses the actual name for things

2. "Thongs" in Australia are flip flops

3. My accent sounds Canadian to Australians 

4. It is really really really expensive here

5. Politeness is a very important quality 

6. All the surfer boys have long blond hair 

7. Looking funky is the standard way to look 

8. Australians love their country so when they travel, they travel around the country 

9. Shoes isn't a "must have" thing. It's like wearing a hat, cool if you do but no one cares if you don't 

10. There are a lot of cockroaches!
