Too little sleep

Yesterday Bea and I spent all day looking for a job. We left our CV's at a couple of places and we will go again to a few other places. It isn't high season now so it's harder to find something. But in a month jobs will be opening up again :) it was so hot yesterday it was exhausting so in the end we went to taps, a bar/restaurant for some beers. We then went home and rested, kim made spring rolls for us :) we then started drinking and went out to a club called O'malleys. It wasn't that good actually but we danced a lot which was fun. The night ended with kebab and around three we were home again. I woke up at 8 this morning for some reason and went for a swim in the pool. Now we are watching a movie and after this I am probably gonna go to the beach :)

Thursday and Friday

Helloooo! I finally moved in permanently to an apartment. It's another apartment than the one we have lived in now. It's cheaper, bigger, and we have the most beautiful view in the world. The ocean is a two minute walk from us, I have a bus stop right outside and the town is all around so it is perfect! Last night I went to a party at varsity which is one of the UNI accomidations. I went there with the German crew :) hihi my UNI buddies and we met a lot of people there. There were soooooo many people at the party, several 100 people. Then a bunch went to the helm, a night club and me and julie joined. We met more people there and we had a blast, was a little hungover today though hehe. We had to get up early as well to move which was hard but we did it! And the rest of the day we've been chilling. We went grocery shopping and now we are sitting by the ocean where there is free wifi. Tonight we are going to watch a horror movie and just chill :)

All my money poorer

So guess what? I was robbed! Yay! I figured that everyone has to be robbed at least once in their lifetime. My camera and my wallet. My wallet contained my bank card, a bit more than 20 dollars, my ID, my student ID, my water card, my discount card and some other things. So annoying!!!! Julie, Bea and I were hanging out at Sunshine Plaza, a shopping centre. Julie decided to leave earlier because she was really tired but Bea and I stayed. We took a later bus and I had all my stuff in my backpack which was on my back. Right before I stepped on the bus I took out my wallet to get my bus card out and then I placed it in my backpack. Bea realized that the guys sitting behind us were staring intensly at us but we just figured that they were just checking us out the way guys do but when we got off the bus we noticed that my bag was open, my beloved wallet that I love oh so much is missing and the camera that my sister has so kindly let me borrow. With yeaaaaaars of photos and memories :( aaaah!!!! I got so pissed off. I instantly called the police and reported the crime and now I need to split my bank card with Bea. Oh gawd! Karma is going to hit those guys so hard someday. When I was on the phone with the police though I saw a rat the size of a dog and I got really scared but i couldn't react because I was talking to the cops. Hahaha. When I got back to the apartment, Kim, our other roommate was like YOU NEED A DRINK and poured me a glass of wine. So sweet. Then they took me out to dinner. The sweetest❤️ But the most important thing is that I'm fine and Bea is fine. Luckily it wasn't more serious and I am just more annoyed than anything. But besides this little incident, I am having an awesome time!

Tuesday

I can't believe I've only been here for three days! It feels like three weeks!! At least! Today however was a long day but really, really fun. I woke up around 7.30, got ready and got to the uni by 9. There was a BBQ breakfast and some of the German people I've gotten to know were there already so I hung out with them. There are insanely mane Germans here. It feels like they have literally invaded the Sunshine Coast. Crazy! I've however started hanging out with a girl called Julie, German of course, a lot so we spent almost the entire day together. The day was filled with fun and games. There were stalls so we could sign up for all sorts of activities. I signed up for a choir, a gay right club, surf lessons. Then I also signed up for a vacation weekend that's happening in April. Then around 12-1, there was a free Mexican buffet and free alcohol at the university so Julie and I went there and we met some new people there as well. We took the bus back to Mooloolaba after that and went straight to the ocean. That was wonderful! The waves were 3-4 meters high and we just went crazy in the water. Bea and Kim showed up after a while and we hung out on the beach for a bit and after that we went swimming in the pool of our apartment. We then showered and got ready, then we headed for the grocery and the liquor store together with two people called Helena and Timothy (German as well obviously). We bought meat and 20 liters of wine. When we came back we all went to BBQ on the rooftop together with some other Germans. It was heaps fun! We drank and ate before coming to our apartment and played Ring of Fire which is a drinking game. Those drinks hit some harder than others. When we were all bubbled up we went off to a club called Helm. It was toga themed and a lot of people showed up. The music was f*cking amazing! I just came back now and I am about to go to bed, really tired and will probably be hungover tomorrow. Yippie!!
Tomorrow will be a more calm day so I am just going to relax and take it easy. Stay away from the sun because I've burnt myself so brutally it hurts to touch any part of my body. I got that burn from just walking around campus. Insane, really!

Good Morning!

Right now it is 8.14 and I am sitting on my balcony in a dress. The sun is burning on my face and I am getting more and more color every day. Still not completely tan though but I'll fix that later ;) Today is my second day of o-week so am I going to take the bus to Uni in a little bit. The others are still sleeping right now but when I am at uni, they are going to check out apartment options.
Bea and I stayed up pretty late last night, talking and catching up. But before that there was this huge flying insect in our apartment and I hate insects so I hid while Kim tried killing it. She lost is later which of course didn't make me feel any better but I haven't seen it since so I hope it flew out. I think my jetlag is almost gone which is awesome!! However I still just feel like I am on vacation but once I get used to this lifestyle that will go away too, but no complaints yet! I hope that today I'll get to meet some more people.

O-week

Translation: Orientation week!

One thing I've learned these two days is that Australia is that Australians like to use slang words. Haha so I am picking up the words pretty fast. Today was my first day of orientation week. I woke up at 4 this morning haha Jet laaaaag!! But I got out of bed at 6.30. My roommates were German and were going to the Uni as well so I went to the school with like 20 germans haha. At 8am we had a BBQ breakfast which was really good and we got to mingle with some people. Then during the day we listened to presentations about the school, our courses and so on. Then we got a tour of the school. I met a lot of nice people but I felt a bit overwhelmed about everything but I'll get used to that. I took the bus back to Mooloolaba and met Bea around 4.30. Ahhhhh it was sooooooo good to see her!! We wouldn't let go of each other for like ten minutes. Bea had also met a girl, Kim, who was looking for a place so the three of us found an apartment that we are staying in now for four days and if we like it we are going to move in full time but we are going to look at other places too so we known our options. Once we got our bags and all into our apartment we went to Domino's pizza and went down to beach and ate. Kim and I went swimming in the ocean with our clothes on. It was lovely!!! Now we are going to watch a movie and tomorrow I am going back to Uni to do some other things and hopefully meet some more people :)

I've arrived.

Finally! I am at the Sunshine Coast! I am at a hostel in a town called Mooloolaba. Jet lagged to 100% and feeling a bit sick but that is only to be expected. The flight from Abu Dhabi was over seventeen hours!! But we stopped in SINGAPORE!!! My first home, where I spent my childhood. I must admit when we arrived there tears filled my eyes. I practically ran off the plane and I just walked around for forty five minutes taking it all in. It smelled just as I remembered it, wonderful! Then from there it was 7 hours left and I watched Casablanca and Valentine's Day. When I arrived everything went smoothly and it was easy to find a bus, I literally just told them the adress of the hostel and they drove me to the door of the hostel. When I got here I smelled like a trashcan, looked like I had aged 10 years over night and it was so hot here! I went to the counter and they told me I couldn't check in for another two hours but a girl who was friends with one of the workers came up to me and said "you look like you need a drink" and handed me Somersby which is a Swedish cider. We started talking and she invited me to come along to her friends house, so I did and there were a few people there. Then we went to a restaurant and I ordered a lamb salad which was delicious! But after that I felt like the jet lag was getting the best of me so we went our separate ways. I went to buy a simcard for my phone which I am now trying to activate but it isn't all too easy.

It is almost 6.30pm here and the sun is slowly going down. The weather is amazing! I am sitting in a mini dress right now and when I got here the girl who helped me out said "It's a shame that you arrived when we have such shitty weather". I was like what?! Shitty?! um... no! I can get used to this!! Tomorrow I am getting up early because Orientation week is starting so I want to be on time, I just hope I find my way. Then Bea is coming!! Woohoo so we are meeting up whenever I am done for the day. I can't wait to see her!!! Anyway, I am going to relax now and go to bed soon because I am EXHAUSTED!! Hope everyone out there has a good day!!

Abu Dhabi

Right now I am sitting at a cafe at the airport in Abu Dhabi. I am exhausted and I have a really bad stomach ache. When I've finished my cup of hot chocolate, I am going to go find my gate. It was really hard to find my way at this airport at first but eventually I understood what all the signs meant. My parents, siblings and uncle waved me goodbye at the airport but before that I met my friends and we said goodbye. The first flight was really late so when we arrived in Berlin I had to run, I don't think I've ever hurried so much that when I arrived at the gate I was so out of breath, the people around me must have thought I was having a stroke or something. The next flight is 17 hours, I hope to get some sleep so I can get rid of my stomach ache. I hardly slept on the last flight, only for an hour or so but I did watch the movie "You Got Mail" and listened to an entire Simon and Garfunkel album.
Picture taken on the way to the airport :)

It's time

I am going to get dressed now and then I am going to jump in the car and be on my way to the airport. Today I've packed, bought last minute things, packed, booked all sorts of things, and packed some more! On the way to the airport I am going to stop really fast to say goodbye to some friends. It is going to be emotionaaaaaal!!! Then my uncle might come say bye to me at the airport. At 7.40pm I'll be taking off on the first flight that goes to Berlin, short flight that is. Then I have an hour and a half at the airport before going on flight number two that takes off to Abu Dhabi. That will take about 5-6 hours and I'll arrive at 6 in the morning, Abu Dhabi time. In Abu Dhabi I have three and a half hours so I'm going to go have some breakfast and relax a little bit. Then I'll be going on the final flight that is all the way to Brisbane and that flight is going to be SEVENTEEN HOURS! My gosh! Haha I have to keep myself entertained but also get plenty sleep so I am not too tired when I arrive in Brisbane at 9 in the morning, Australian time. Then I have about an hour to Sunshine Coast, and how I get there I'll have to figure out when I get there. I don't know how long it will be until I have internet again but I'll blog as often as possible and keep ya'll updated :)
My loves <3 I'll miss you so much!

Can't sleep

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I feel so tired yet awake too
I am nervous about tomorrow, this I can't deny
But I need to get some sleep, at least I'll try
Just a few hours before I cross the border
Until then I need to fight this sleeping disorder
So I'll close my eyes and rest my head
And spend one last night in this IKEA bed

But first let me take a selfie....

My last day

Tomorrow late afternoon I leave which means that today has been my final full day in Sweden. I am getting nervous but man I can't describe how excited I am. Anyway today I woke up around 11, I had breakfast, took a shower and got dressed. Then my brother, dad and I went to the mall to buy some last minute groceries and allergy pills for me to take with me to Aussi. We then drove to the home my grandfather is in so I could see him one last time before I left and he was pretty aware today compare to other days so that was positive. We then went to pick up my grandma and her sister and we drove home. When we got here, my sister and grandparents on my mother's side were already here. We drank wine, had bouillabaisse. We had good conversation and I got goodbye presents and then we played the game where you have a name on your forehead and you have to guess who you are by asking yes and no questions. Everyone just left and now I am double checking through my visa etc to make sure I haven't missed anything. In a bit we will all watch a movie, hopefully Dumb Dumber two if others agree :)

What I'll miss

Last day in Sweden, leaving tomorrow! I am so excited, I can't even put it in to words. This is what I have worked so hard for, this is what I want and now it is finally happening. It has been a dream for so long I can still hardly believe it. But I haven't had the guts to pinch myself just in case I do wake up and it isn't true.
There are a lot of things that I will not miss from Sweden but what I never expected when I first got here, is that there are actually a handful of things I'll miss too.

I'll miss the people I hang out with here, my group of friends. We are such a unique group, social, crazy, completely drama-free. Our movie nights and parties have all been amazing and I am going to miss it <3

Candy. There is no candy in the world that is as good as the one in Sweden and I am going to miss the complete satisfaction of my sweet tooth.
Bathtubs. I might get one when I once settle in but even so it will most likely be to hot for me to use it and I love baths! They are the best. I am going to miss them so muuuuuch!

I am going to miss Jesper! Who am I now going to go for a walk in my underwear with? or pull pranks on others with? He is the goofball in my life and I need a cray cray like him!!

And of course Rita. The one I make pizza with, watch a fucked up horror movie with and then have deep talks until the sun comes back. That I am going to miss. But we will stay in touch, that much I am sure of!

50 Shades of Grey movie

As mentioned, I saw the 50 Shades of Grey movie last night. When I found out a movie was coming I was first really excited because I love the books. Especially the last two ones because they have more of a plot. But when the movie did come out, I read all the reviews and it wasn't positive I must say. All I heard from all over was what a crap movie it was and how everything was wrong so my expectations sank pretty deep and I could only imagine how crap it must've been. But when I told Karin that I was going to see it she told me that all her friends had loved it. But I just decided to go into the movies with an open mind. Obviously you have to watch the movie even if it sucks, it is 50 Shades! So I watched it and this is what I thought...

I thought that the movie had some humor in it that gave the audience a good laugh, and I felt like because of those small jokes the movie actually did shine a little. The sex scenes were hot which is a very important detail in the story. Dakota Johnson, the woman who played Anastasia Steele did an excellent job and she was more or less how I'd imagined her to be when I read the books. However as hot as Jamie Dornan may be, to me, he is no Christian Grey. I think that actor Matt Bomer would have fit the part better because he is exactly how I imagined it, flawless and perfect! So because of that, it ruined the movie a great deal because it did annoy me. Also Kate; Anastasia's best friend and roommate, in the books she is suppose to be breathtakingly attractive and no offence to whoever played Kate in the movie, she wasn't. I think someone like Blake Lively would have fit that part perfectly.
Another thing I didn't like was how they introduced people and then just took them away as if they aren't a big part of the story. Like Taylor the driver, he had like two words in the movie and he is suppose to mean a great deal to Christian. Or José, he is suppose to be Anastasia's best friend and Christian is suppose to feel some jealousy towards him but no, they just made him look gross in the movie and thats not right. Then there is Ray, Anastasia's step dad; she's suppose to be closer to him than she is to her own mother but that did not show at all in the movie. Then Christian's chef wasn't even in the movie which is also odd since she and Anastasia have a lot of long, personal talks over breakfast in the book.
Other than that it was an alright film. I'd give it 4.5 M's out of ten!

MMMMMMMMMM

We Dem Boyz

Yesterday I had my last day in town so I wanted to squeeze everyone in so I could say goodbye to my friends. I first met Nathalie for coffee at Starbucks. I hadn't seen her in at least half a year and she's so amazing that I really just needed to meet her before I go. We hung out there for a couple of hours just chatting it up about whats new. Then I met Karin shortly after and we went for dinner at Subway but the mall we were at was closing so we ate fast and then went to Wayne's Coffee. I however didn't have anything there. Rita met up with us there right before Karin left and the two of us went to the movies to see 50 Shades of Grey. After the movies we went for movie night at Kajsa's and we both ended up staying the night. We first saw a horror movie that was filmed as a documentary and then we watched a really good movie called Enter Nowhere. I'd never heard of it before but it was really mind blowing and interesting. Also sort of a horror movie but not really. We then fell asleep to Friends and this morning Sophia came over and we had breakfast together before I said goodbye to those beautiful people and went home <3
Only picture taken all day. Nathalie and I at Starbucks <3

Vampires

The past ten years, vampires have been very trendy. There are TV shows, movies, books, the whole lot really and everyone has some sort of connection to these urban legends. I am what some may call a supernatural loving freak. I believe in ghosts and witchcraft mostly, but when it comes to vampires I hope more than I believe that they are real. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my favourite show and Spike is my dream man, of course I wish they were real!

People like to twist and modernise the myth but the real mythical vampires are suppose to be extremely pale but very beautiful. But other than that they do look like normal people. Their skin is cold as ice, almost as if it is painful to touch and when they open their mouths widely they have visible fangs. The fangs are for biting human flesh and sucking the blood because that is what they live on. Their senses are a lot stronger than the normal person including their strength and speed, which means that humans would have no chance in a fight against a vampire. Some may think that they can't ever die because of the fact that they don't age but that isn't true, there are few ways to kill a vampire. The most common way is to stab a vampires heart with a wooden stake, another way is to cut the vampire into pieces and burn it. Vampires are also allergic to sun, if they get sunlight on them they catch fire and die. Garlic and the cross can harm them but not enough to kill them. In order to become a vampire, the vampire must suck your blood and you must suck theres. It isn't enough for only the vampire to suck the human blood without killing him/her. If a vampire doesn't get any blood in their system, it won't kill them but it will put them in some sort of coma.

I have a theory though, that if vampire's did exist the world would be a better place because humans could learn to help when in need. Humans and vampire's can work together. Human's donate blood to vampires and in return vampires help humans out whenever they are in trouble. Perfect solution. Vampire's don't have to be evil, if humans decide to help out as well.

Best TV characters of all time

Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother. He is Legen-waitforit-dary! Everything I know about picking up girls, I've learnt from him. He's hilarious and of course he always looks his best.
Tate Langdon from American Horror Story. He is absolutely insane and 100% psycho which is why he is so bad ass. He has done the most evil things, but can somehow get away with it anyway.
Chandler Bing from Friends. Need I even to explain why? He is just awesome and so funny everything he says cracks me up!
David Silver from Beverly Hills, 90210. The little geek everyone loves to make fun off. No one cuter and he is so awkward it's hilarious.
Eric Matthews from Boy Meets World. Dumbest character ever created and says the funniest things that make absolutely no sense.
Phoebe Buffay from Friends. She is so wonderfully weird and I think that everyones needs someone like her in their lives.
Ricky from My So-Called Life. He is the kindest and the sweetest character. He goes through a lot of pain and yet all he wants is to please others.
Naomi Clark from 90210. A real woman right here. She is stubborn, self centered, bitchy but funny, kind hearted and a real good friend all at once. She inspires me.
Seth Cohen from the OC. He is just so funny all the time and it never stops. Everything that comes out of his mouth makes me LOL. Plus him and his girlfriend Summer are so cute they are to die for.
Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also known as the love of my life. He is super evil, but super great and of course, SEXY!
Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This character is one of the strongest characters on TV. She tries as hard as she can to be a normal girl with normal problems but needs to save the world every single day too. The best!
