So, it's about these four girls who were once friends with another girl, Allison. However, Allison was very manipulative, secretive and treated the others like her little muppets. She knew all her little muppets secrets while they knew none of hers. So the show starts off with the five girls having a sleepover in some barn, they listen to music, drink alcohol and all that. Eventually they all fall asleep until one of the girls (Aria) wakes up and realizes that Allison and one of the other girls (Spencer) are missing. Spencer eventually comes back freaked out saying that she heard Allison scream and she's been looking for her everywhere. A year later, Allison is still missing and the rest of the girls have grown apart. That is until Allisons body is found dead and these other girls start getting messages from someone who calls themselves A. Creepy things happen to them, and every single one of these pretty little liars have near death experiences at least once. Well so much happens, you have to watch it to find out what but it is so awesome. So season four is coming to an end soon and after watching this show for four years trying to figure out who A is I decided to stop going crazy about it and try to figure out who it is on my own, cause I can't wait a whole other season, meaning a whole year to find out. But I then realized it was impossible to figure it out. Buuuut ha-ha I finally have a theory that makes sense. But for you guys to understand my theory, I should probably explain who the main characters are.
Main characters
Spencer: She is the smartest girl in school and she is really tough. She isn't afraid of anything but A has probably had the biggest effect on her because she went crazy at one point and ended up at a mental institution. She also used drugs to stay awake to find all clues that will lead to A. She is dating Toby who was one of Alisons biggest enemies.
Aria: The sweet little vegeterian who has a weakness for black and white movies and old classic novels. She falls in love with her English teacher and they eventually start having a secretive relationship. She however have lots of little boys running after her but her heart has always been with Ezra Fitz. Well that is until she found out his deep, dark secret of course...
Hanna: Hanna is the blonde with a passion for fashion. She has a strong relationship with her single mom and they stay together through thick and thin. Her friends mean everything to her and she does whatever it takes to help them through hard situations. She falls in love with the hacker Caleb who eventually leaves her heartbroken and alone.
Emily: She was always the shy, quiet one but through out the series she has grown and makes sure that people don't walk all over her anymore. It later turns out that she was in love with Allison but the longer Allison is gone, the more she realizes how horribly she actually treated her. Emily later starts a love relationship with Maya who is later found dead in her own home. After months of grief, she then gets into a new relationship with a girl from her swim team, Paige.
My theory
Ok, the truth is that Pretty Little Liars is actually based on books but the writer of the show promised that the show and the books will not be the same at all. In the books though, it turns out that Alison is alive (which she may or may not be in the show) and that she actually has a secret twin sister called Courtney. Courtney is though locked up in a mental institution and whenever she comes to visit her family, she liked to pretend to be Allison. I never read the books so I don't know all the details but according to what I've read on the internet and heard from others, Allison kills Courtney and that is the body they find and Allison turns out to be A. What we now know in the show is that there is a twin theory but one of the actors said that Allison doesn't have a twin but another character does.
I never in a million years thought that one of the main characters would be involved in the murder of Allison nor would I ever guess one of them is actually A. Until I went crazy and looked up every detail... Now this is my theory about the twins: I think Spencer has a twin. I am guessing that something happened to Spencers twin as a child, and some how Allison found out and blackmailed Spencer, so Spencer tried to harm Allison. Because we all know that there was a fight between the two of them but we all though it was because Spencer kissed Ian. But why would something like that turn into something so huge, especially when it doesn't even have anything to do with Allison? Why do I think this? Well, one of the twins have the exact same birth marks as Spencer, but that could just be the actors. When the story about the twins was told, it was mentioned that the twins were home alone late, and Spencers parents work late. At one funeral (with all the deaths going on, I can't remember who's) there was a woman covered in black, even her face and it was never revealed who that was but if you look closely, she has the same body as Spencer and they stand the way. In the intro, the girl in the casket is wearing a black blouse, that same blouse that Spencer once wore. Spencer did attack Mona (another character) one time, so who's to say that she isn't violent and harmed her twin in some way as a child? However, I do not think that Spencer is A. I've thought that all kinds of people were A, never did I think that one of the main characters were, until now, because I think that Aria is A. I don't know why she would do it, and she is my favorite so I really hope not BUT, I noticed that in one episode, Aria was wearing black, leather gloves, and the only parts we get to see off A are the gloves and the hoody. Also, I paused an episode ones and at that moment, Aria was in her room and I noticed things she had in her room that we've all seen A use. A finds out about everything and reveals it all to everyone so is it just a coincidence that the only things A hasn't revealed are the two times Aria cheated on Ezra? We never get to see who Aria is texting and she is always on the phone, but we always see who the others are texting. The writer of PLL once wrote "A exists in 3b" which everyone thought meant season 3, part 2 but the truth is that Ezra's apartment is 3b. Another time the write tweeted "in the next episode A will be unmasked". During that episode, everyone went to a masquerade ball, and the only two people who took off their masks were Aria and Ezra.
I can go on forever and ever about this but it is past my bed time. There are lots of theories on YouTube so look it up if you guys are going as crazy like I am. Anyway, put some thought into my theory and let me know what you think. Good night!
